A Progressive Champion for Senate District 65

What Robyn Stands for

  • Pro-Choice

Robyn has been a lifelong advocate for choice. She believes every person should have the right and ability to make decisions about their bodies. Being pro-choice is a value that includes, but goes beyond access to reproductive care. Being pro-choice means creating the economic and social conditions that make it possible for each person to make decisions about how to care for themselves and their families. Robyn will fight for policies that support dignity and autonomy for everyone.

  • Pro-labor

Many of our most pressing social issues would be solved if we dealt with the serious economic insecurity facing most families. Robyn learned this growing up in a working-class family. It’s shaped everything Robyn believes and works for. Robyn will fight every day for policies that lift working people and families and support dignity. Robyn has deep relationships with workers, and believes that together, we have everything we need to care for ourselves and each other.

  • Pro-Immigrant

    Pro-Immigrant

Robyn did not only start protecting our neighbors from ICE once Trump was elected–she' has been fighting for immigrant rights for decades. Robyn has a Masters in International Human Rights Law, and has been advocating for rights her whole career. Robyn has the unwavering commitment to justice to truly stand up against ICE, and safeguard our cities and state from the Federal government's invasion. Robyn is the kind of principled and seasoned fighter that we need now.

  • higher ed

    Higher Education

Robyn believes investing in education is the best way for our state to succeed. Robyn worked as professor of Leadership at Metro State and the University of Minnesota. She is also a member of the Board of Regents at the U of M, where she has fought against tuition increases and excessive salaries of administrators. Robyn will fight to expand the North Star promise to Minnesota families making less than $150k per year as one of her top priorities in order to make college more affordable.

  • gun control

    Gun Control

After the recent shootings by ICE, and the growing sense of danger we’re all experiencing, now more than ever, we must see common sense gun control. In the aftermath of the Annunciation school shooting, Robyn led the effort with Mom’s Demand Action to pass a Resolution in West St Paul calling on the state to ban assault weapons. Robyn has fought her whole career for the kind of provisions we need to make sure we can all be safe–and will continue that fight in the state senate.

  • Pro-Environment

Environmental justice is more than a moral obligation–it is how we take care of ourselves and the generations to come. We need policy solutions that care for our community today and into the future. Robyn has worked for strong environmental policies for more than two decades and is committed to finding solutions that work for all of us. Robyn’s environmental and outdoor enthusiasm extends to her hobbies, being an avid camper, hiker, and sailor.

  • healthcare

    Expanding Health Care

As the Midwest Coordinator of the Doctor’s Council-SEIU, Robyn has seen firsthand what is wrong with our healthcare system. She has seen how outsourcing public services to privately run, for-profit entities has led to the quality of our healthcare decreasing. She will support expanding eligibility for Minnesota Care, Medicaid and MNSure subsidies for everyone–including undocumented immigrants. Above all, Robyn believes healthcare is a human right, not a privilege.

  • k-12

    public education

Robyn has fought for years to ensure our public schools are well-funded. Robyn supports fully funding community schools including special education and supports the Education Support Professionals’ Bill of Rights. She has worked for years with public school unions SEIU local 284 and SPFE, and in 2023, she advocated for legislation to allow school employees access to unemployment benefits. As a mother with kids in St. Paul and West St. Paul schools, Robyn knows how important public education is, and she will take that fight into the state senate.

  • fair taxes

Among the biggest problems facing our state are the federal cuts being imposed against our social services. These cuts are creating deficits at all levels of our state and local government, forcing us to choose between cutting social programs, or raising taxes. Robyn will work to increase local government aid to provide property tax relief to homeowners in St. Paul and West St. Paul. She has the experience to partner with leaders at all levels of government to reduce these burdens on working families, and the drive to get it done.
